None of us kids were close to him and he was a loner. He has some property we want to get rid of. Is there a form or something we can file so we can take posession of the property?

I’m sure in this case his estate will go into probate. You would have to file through the courts and then they would get involved in deciding who gets what.

only if he owned very little.(a few thousand $’s) Sounds like you can’t avoid it. Since you weren’t close you probably didn’t expect anything anyway so even though you’ll probably have to wait 6 yrs. or more you do benifit.

Those are the breaks I’m afraid.

bring him back alive and persuade him to write a will before he leaves again.

    only way, sorry!
