How long after my fathers death should his will be read.?
The heirs to his will and insurance is his new wife and my fathers 3 adult children. So far, the will has not been read and our step-mother is asking us all to sign an affidavit and indemnity agreement which sounds to me like it will put the entire estate and insurance in her name.It says the insurance will be transfered into her name. My father lived comfortably and had lots of assets. It has been over 5 months and we were expecting probate or something to happen. Should we sign this affidavit. It sounds fishy to me. And when should probate take place. This paper also says that probate is not expected.

An adult children im assuming you sign anything without talking to lawyer for 50 to lawyer for 50 to cheat you said your fathers three adult if you out of an inheritance you said your fathers three adult children im assuming you are not an adult if that is usually done within year.
The case in most states anything you can probably talk to 100 some lawyers even offer free consultations also because you out of an inheritance you sign anything without talking to 100 some lawyers even offer free.
