Can you get a continuance in probate court?

My husband is going to probate for his parents. His father died in 2008 and mother in 2009. He is waiting for the money from his 401k to pay for the publication the court needs.
He is the personal representative for his mom’s estate. Also, does he have to file that or when he goes to court just ask the judge for a continuance.

The paperwork was carried to the probate court in the adjacent county. The judge was vacation that particular week but has returned. In my opinion, there has been more than enough time to sign the paperwork and submit it to the local paper for the legals section; however, the judge has failed to do so. Is there a time frame involved here? Once the papers are signed, how long does probate court have to get the legal notice in the legal organ? I have reason to believe there is some stalling here both on the part of the judge and on the part of a third party who was not related to my sister who’s trying to cause me trouble. If the judge is not going to do her job, seems they would need to notify me. I feel like I should drop the whole matter; it’s my opinion this judge could be crooked.

Need Real Estate/ Criminal Attorney?

I was told that there is a grace period on a estate settlement from 2009 to settle it so I was wondering how long the grace period is and what happens if the loose ends do not get tied up? We are so close to getting this estate settled and the money distributed. Even though it was stated that the state of connecticut taxes were pd and entered no letter has been sent to the probate court that is the hold up.
