where can I view my grandmother’s probated will?
My grandmother passed on May 22, 2007, before she passed she had left some money for me and two of my cousins. My family is not very good at communicating nor are they good giving money if they don’t know you are aware that you are to receive it. So to avoid friction I’ve done some research around my house and have found the attorney that probated the will, the docket number and probate court number. Although I’m uncomfortable questioning the attorney about the matter. Also the will was probated on July 11, 2007. With my grandfather noted as the independent executor what does that mean? And what steps will I need to take to see a physical form of the probated will by other means then going to my grandfather on this matter?

Does anyone know how or who to contact in the MA courts to add a deceased parent to your birth certificate?
My father passed away 21 years ago and he had never signed my birth certificate because of a snow storm. I got social security because he had signed my baptism forms but I want his name on my birth certificate. I know I have to go through the probate court but I’m not sure who to contact over there? Is it just the administrative assistant? Does anyone who what I would need to make the appeal to the court? Any help would be great!

How much does it cost to legally change my first name in Ohio (in Ashtabula county)?
I will be heading to the Probate Court within the next few months to change my first name and was wondering how much money I can expect to be handing over for court fees and all…I read somewhere that it would be about 93 dollars….I also have to post it as a legal notice in a paper for one month so that will cost too…

Should there be two names on my moms deed to her home?
If my mother passes away and their is no other names on the deed to her home, besides her own, what will happen to the home? Should there be a second name on the deed in order to keep the home out of probate court? We just don’t understand how to keep this house out of the states hands. We don’t want to go through all the hassle of courts once she passes.

filing probate papers in TN for investments/partnerships?
what kind of paperwork would you need to file in TN for transferring the partnership investment interests upon the death of a partner?
This has already been done by the executor who won’t tell me what was filed or in what departments papers had to be filed.
I need to find out info that the executor won’t tell me like the worth of the partnerships.
I am one of the heirs and all I know is that I now have a certain percentage of the partnership. I need to know what the partnership owns and what it is worth.
Where could I look up what was filed?
executor of estate in TN won’t tell me what was filed or in what gov’t offices, i.e. probate court *PLUS* some dept for registering owners of partnerships?
I want to find papers filed myself, not find a lawyer–
1) I want to see if I can get copies of everything that was filed in the probate matter AND
2) in the partnership -changing of ownership documents.
Executor refuses to help.
what TN departments would I ask for these records?
executor is also general partner of the partnerships.
there was no probate lawyer,
I do have a copy of the will which simply says that all partnership interests will be evenly divided by the surviving relatives listed on the will.
I need to find the value of the assets at the time of death.
(that wouldn’t be in the will, it would be in documents filed somewhere— question is where?)

How do I claim on my father’s estate?
My father died March and I am his only surviving child. He was a Illinois resident, I am a UK resident. I have had minimal contact with his wife – according to the probate court in his county they have no record of a will. I am not sure whether he died intestate – how do I find out? If so, how does the probate law work in this situation re surviving spouses/children?

What happens if a will doesn’t go to probate? Does it have to?
If a person dies that owned a home, car, other personal proerty, etc… and did indeed make a will, does it have to go through probate court?
What if any and all legacies/wishes written in the will were followed through but the actual will never went to probate?
Are there any penalties for someone appointed as the executor that did not send the will to probate court?
How soon must the will be sent to probate court?
Why does it have to go through probate? The court has to oversee the estate, but shouldn’t that be an option and not something that is mandated?
I am particularly speaking of Massachusetts, and MA probate laws….
thank you for your help

Surrogate’s Court Question?
My friend became an administrator of his late wife’s estate. He refuses to follow any order that the court orders him to do, such as filing documents with the court. He also has no care about his wife’s creditors towards her estate. Are there any criminal penalties with respect to the probate court?
