Does an administrator of an estate have to give the court a copy of all income tax paperwork?

My mother died in 2000 and the administrator of the estate has never put income tax paperwork that he filed into her probate court file. Is this necessary. Also, he claims he made an aggressive stand on her taxes a year ago and he thinks there will be an audit on her estate and so he is keeping a funds in the estate until 2010 and will not dispurse until then if there is anything left. Her estate was worth about $75,000.

I have to go to probate court in April to request to have my daughters last name changed to mine?

when a person has a will and passes away, are their assets at the time of their death filed in probate court?

I asked her to use a lawyer , but she wants to save money. She did discuss things with an accountant. Is there something I can do to make sure everything is done properly. Should I also talk to the probate judge or assume it will be taken care of properly through the judge and my sister? Even though I am not the executer of the estate, are there things I can do? Can monies entered into the estate be divided before all the monies arrive from all the accounts. That looks like it will take a long time.
